My other fields
I am assisting and supporting and adding to these 3 worlds:
At Hana Ami, I am in charge of the international section. Presentating Gregor Lersch and his INT project to Japan, as well as connecting "florieren!", the wonderful German floral magazin, to the Japanese world. I am supporting Japanese flower designers taking part in the Belgian Floral Art book project.
On the Japanese side, I am supervising the office of Kazumasa Kubo. My own lessons are also presentated in Japanese on the Hana Ami homepage.
The Hana Ami Blumenschule, which I just call "The Blumenschule", is a teaching series of 144 template-like flower design items. Founded in 1998, The Blumenschule now has 50 instructors teaching all over Japan with 800 students so far. What I love about The Blumenschule is the dedication of our teachers! As headmaster and Meister Instructor myself, I love to see their typical Japanese approach: correct and detailed. On top, as many of them are great designers, they add their specific tastes and styles to the themes.
As a designer, I am of course very much in connection with design materials.
Living in Japan, surrounded by Japanese materials, I want to share these with the world. Greengabes is my sales page, where I introduce Kyogi, Koyori, Rakusui Washi, Momigara and Kozo, all "undesigned", raw natural materials, inducing creativity in us. Designers from already 23 countries are ordering at Greengabes and are adding to the design gallery there.
